I saw the "trailer" on twitter and it really stuck with me. I couldn't say why, but I kept thinking about it. It spoke to me and that made it kind of intimidating to actually open the game I downloaded.
Finally did on the second week. I really like it. Ben is a wretched creature living in a hopeless world. Moloch is dead but the hope seems to have dried up at some point. The world is in an age of unprecedented peace, and the Separatist Republic, the gods' chosen nation and bastion of freedom, smiles brightly as it continues with its forever wars and ritual sacrifice.
At some point, Ben considers that butchering him like an animal would produce more value than he has in his entire life. He's a waste of resources. A nothing person.
Deeply spiritually relatable. Can't wait for more.
