I don't know about the previous person but I did try that and it still doesn't work. The game just doesn't start, no error, no info, no message, just nothing.
I have an inkling of a feeling it might be your system not playing nicely with the presplash .png images. Try deleting both presplash.png and presplash2.png from the /game folder and see if that doesn't fix it.
