Thanks for the game updates (including the added color theme). I haven't been in any of the situations where the bugs arose before, but I will keep an eye out.
After playing against the AI many times since I found CNESS, I finally won against AI 1 in a fair game! I only made one mistake this time (when I unnecessarily lost my rook), and I suppose that the minimum of mistakes was a key factor in my success. I suppose I'm getting better at the game overall too, with practice (including against an easier AI opponent and challenge puzzles available elsewhere). Your AI presents a formidable challenge, especially for someone who is not a proficient chess player, so I feel accomplished. Great job on this game. :)
