It's because no matter what gender you pick it makes you a queen, idk why? But ig it's because they don't want another king.

I mean this makes sense somewhat... it just feels like it's exclusionary towards male players, especially if someone is transmasc and doesn't want to be seen as female. I hope this comes back again in the story proper, or is more obviously made to be an artistic decision.
