I can tell a lot of love and effort went into this but I could not enjoy this. The MC is, despite being given multiple dialogue options, bland, unintelligent, and clearly not goth from what they feel about the setting amongst other things (this would be fine if not for the player being given agency and if it was articulated a bit better within the text and itchio description). Maybe expectations as a goth were a bit high. The dialogue is plentiful to set the scene of being on a cozy yet darkly intriguing date, talking to one another for what it seems hours of time yet instead of coming across as intended it's just overabundant and monotonous and it should never feel that way when playing a visual novel. I do enjoy bits of Avon's character and his interests (obviously those that don't involve killing or anything else of the sort) but what I do like is overshadowed by his negative qualities. The biggest being that he is edgy, which isn't a crime but it doesn't make me want to read about him as much. After visiting the tumblr in order to see the game in a better light, I realized that didn't work and the more I learnt about the game and it's lore, the less I liked overall. I went in thinking I would like this and left disappointed and so I won't be continuing to follow this story. Hopefully others will enjoy this much more than I.
