There's a roguelike save file called "dont touch me" that you can delete. Also you can use "restart" but this does funky stuff to the colour scheme sometimes, so it's best to hit "restart" to delete the savefile and then close and re-open the game properly.

Ah thank you. Wait, could I back up and restore that Roguelike Save File to circumvent the lack of saving? Asking for a friend of course.

There may be some secret shenanigans in the background that detect that and then surprise you later in the run with the reveal that the game is aware you've backed up and restored a roguelike save file and now must be punished for it...
