What is going to be the core gameplay loop of this game? Do you want it to be a top-down action game / twin stick shooter with some light economy simulation on top? Do you want it to be an economy simulation game about building an empire with some occasional light combat?
Right now, I don't enjoy the game. Sorry.
- It's very unclear at the start what you are supposed to do. Just running around searching for boxes (that are not really recognizable as boxes, I thought they were benches at first) is not really fun, and once I have picked them up, there is no real indication of what I should do with them. Better tutorialization would be important.
- For a game that seems to be mostly about walking around, movement does not feel good. Walking into an object in a 2d top-down game should not make you bounce back, it should just stop you.
- The text boxes are very low contrast (blue on blue), making them hard to read for people with healthy eyesight and impossible to read for people with impaired eyesight.
I'd encourage you to think more about where the fun is supposed to come from in this game. There are definitely directions you can take this game into to make something good but right now, I just see some mechanics that don't really come together.
