Update: I've managed to replicate this behaviour on an Intel integrated GPU and published a fix that should allow it to work. Sorry again that you had this experience.
Wow, I'm sorry it looks like this there are clearly some bad issues going on here! Do you mind my asking what kind of GPU your system has? I've only had a chance to test on nVidia GPUs.
