Has the elements of a good contender, but it's really imbalanced. Desperately needs a larger POV, since projectiles and skulls (particularly the red ones) are difficult (if not nearly impossible) to react to coming from the top and bottom of the screen or if you happen to be running away from another enemy in the opposite direction. Ghosts/shadows are nearly impossible to react to sometimes due to how close they have to be to materialize, and if you're running away from another enemy, you'll sometimes just dash into them without realizing.

The way the game is currently, luck can make or break a run since upgrades are entirely random. You could probably mitigate this by forcing the game to pause when you level up and give two or three random power up selections to choose from.

In my opinion this is still one of the better submissions for the jam right now, and has the potential to be a good contender, but right now it's really tough to actually play through the game. A little polish and this could be good.

Also I think the bullet up power up is a little bugged. Whenever I get bullet up for the second time I should be getting a third bullet but it just stays at two bullets. Once I get bullet up for a third time I get the expected four bullets.

Another problem with the difficulty is the completely broken scaling of spawns, if it exists at all. Some runs the first wave spawns a single skull that I can relatively easily kill. Other runs immediately start with three skulls that herd me into a red ghost/shadow that proceeds to instakill me.

Agreed on the fact that the game's great in concept but is in desperate need of better balancing.

Have you downloaded the second version? The one with .v2 at the end is easier than the first one

My bad. Download defaulted to V1 for some reason. I'll try out V2 when I get the chance
