From what Arcadean has said, the story will be about 85-90% the same, and the other 10-15% is just where the town is located, how exploring the town works, and a few changes to some characters (designs and/or personalities) and how the player meets them that Arcadean found he wasn't happy with when he had to rebuild the game in a new game engine.
