Your 3D scene design is simple and beautiful.
The faint glow of the lighthouse fire through the fog strikes a great balance.
It is just barely visible enough to orient oneself.
I struggled to find my way around because the game is so dark otherwise, which may or may not be intended.

Your 2D overlay is pretty funny and does have a charm of its own, but I don't think it harmonized with the look of the 3D environment.

The game play is sadly lacking. It is really let down by the tree cutting interaction being so long, uneventful, and giving not enough visual feedback.

But I did genuinely enjoy the 'survival' aspects of the game play loop. Having to make a dash into the forest, getting too greedy and losing all frame of reference as your light goes out is great. I think if you reworked the difficulty of the game to force the player more into these desperate plays it could work pretty well.
