Where do I even start… The art is awesome! I always love to see pixel art games. I was constantly excited to see new fish and find out their abilities. I didn’t read anything about the game before going into it so seeing the acid rain and toxic gas really surprised me (I was especially scared when I realised radiation will appear too) The sound design has to be my favorite part, it’s so incredible and unsettling. It’s amazing paired with the environment that slowly turns darker and more ominous. Couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw someone locked up in a cage, but it was nice to see that we have a goal like that and aren’t just simply fishing (although I wouldn’t mind endlessly fishing, it’s quite fun). The ending was very sweet!
The mechanic of placing the fish together while having to be mindful of their bonuses is really fun. I do also love how stressful it can be when you have to balance catching fish, arranging them in the inventory, and making sure that you use the items so you don’t die in the process.
The extraction feels so excruciatingly slow, it stressed me out so much in the beginning and the first time I lost all my fish in the last second was crazyyy
All in all… Amazing game and I absolutely love it!
