It's a shame, but it's stupid to claim that the censored version is due to the game's visual style, as stated below. That's a stupid answer. The game isn't all that shocking if everything is blurry and you can't see anything, and that's the whole point of the game—its shock and disgust. But here, everything is obscured, and the highlight vanishes, leaving us with a standard horror game like everyone else's.
