Okay, so I played the game!
Overall, it feels like there's a lot put into the atmosphere of the game. The UI in particular I liked, along with the strange environments. It made me feel lost, without actually being lost...if that makes sense.
The gun...I want to see more weird interactions with the gun. It's stuck in my head, such an odd concept. How will that relationship develop? I wonder.
The environment is monochrome, which I think works very well for the 'disconnected' feeling I get. This place feels like a wasteland, and the only thing keeping you moving forwards is your goal. Whether it destroys or vindicates you is yet to be seen. It almost makes me sad thinking about it. Very well done!
I like the font used. I dunno, it just feels punchy and easy to read! That along with the sketchy portraits in the menu just feels. Good! Also the floating skulls are a nice touch hehe
Finally, the combat. I like the little mini-games, it keeps you engaged. After reaching a certain level, it felt like it was getting in the way of me exploring, though the run option is definitely an option.
Also...to be very specific. There's a little moment between attacking and seeing how much damage you deal. A moment of anticipation, subtle but effective. I dunno, that had me getting hyped, like: "Oh shit, am I going to deal enough damage to defeat it!?"
Very nice. (It's a similar feel to when I can just unload on these fuckers with the base attack, spam that shit and see the numbers fly hehe)
So, it feels like an exploration game with RPG elements, and for the most part I think it works. Sometimes though, I wish I could just turn off the enemies and walk around haha. A very promising game, and I hope to see it progress in due time.
Have a very good day!
