Some in-game explanations would be nice. What is the floating butt-plug icon doing? Why are some Upgrades grayed out and don’t produce viewers?

The butt plug is a hinderance thing that you have to pop before it gets to any of the upgrades. If it does, that's why they get greyed out and you have to click it 60 times to unblock it or you don't get the bonuses from it until you clear it. There's an upgrade that turns hinderance items into bonuses though so it should remove the plugs from spawning.
