both art and sound desigen is really good. but the gameplay feels like it lacks balacing. in my expirience i was often in lose-lose situations, often feeling less like i was trying to play the game, and more like trying to get caught at the right time to i-frame past enemies. which lead to the game feeling less fun and more frustrating and annoying. if the decenty of enemies and attacks on screen could be lowered or of Max's attacks could be speed up, or be given a clear sign of it cooldown (i often found myself with full stamnia and yet couldnt do the slide kick.) as the game is currently it feels mostly like a 3/5. 4/5 at best.

Still, the game is good, the art, sound designe (and animations) are top tier. it is just the gameplay that is lacking a bit balancing

It's a fair review, the gameplay is indeed the roughest part of Max the Elf. We've never made a game before so the gameplay is minimalistic. We are getting better at it. If we make a new game after this one, it will be more ambitious and hopefully more solid combat and platforming! For now we're doing the best we can with the setup we have for Max the Elf.

to be honest, for a first game it is solid. and your best is very good.  So honestly best of both luck and skill to you all :D

Thank you!
