It's a beautiful game with a wonderful atmosphere. The combination of the soundtrack and visual effects perfectly conveys the character's emotions. The defining feature is that character death isn't instantaneous. You have to watch your experiment suffer and agonize while you can't do anything. Also, despite the game's apparent linearity, each run feels like a new story, a true hidden gem.
