My record was Witch (37), player (18), damage (692)

The game feels really subtly balanced in such a way that, because the witch's attacks are deterministic, your loss is always your loss, and their win is always their win, but at the same time it feels like a heart-felt spar.

The simplicity of the mechanics is it's strongest point, but the subtle tech of doing things such as cooldown-refreshes by buying the upgraded version of an attack lets you keep going as far as you can take it. The tools synergize with eachother by virtue of being a way to survive until the next attack, allowing for sudden turn-about victories. The predictable phases are fun to identify and have to circumvent - the most annoying one that i love is the one that increases your cooldowns by 2 every other turn, and the one i think is the hardest is the damage-buff phase. Maybe as a part of the shield line there could be a damage reduction skill? But that might not mesh well with the rest of the attack patterns and make it practically essential to get early.

My personal strategy was to delay dealing damage as much as possible until we had enough health and levels to make the 150% heal work without over-healing, via buying the XP buff, shield first, healing fruit, and hp-up (in no particular order aside from what seemed best that turn.

All in all? Amazing game. I thoroughly enjoyed it :3

Thank you for the in-depth review! I'm glad you enjoyed exploring the mechanics.
