I love story games like this. The story you shared is was very interesting, I was rooting for Alga's freedom of course, but that's not the kind of freedom I expected... She basically became a monster and is only going to cause chaos from now on, like the old mariner said (loved his character by the way, I felt so bad for him). I don't know if I like that for her, it's kind of bittersweet. Also the visuals were very cute, really liked the footprints on the sand that disappeared slowly. Thank you for this game!

Hello! I just got done watching your playthrough! Thank you so so much for playing! The whole time, I was smiling like "You don't know how right u are about some stuff coming up... (: "

I have a habit of making bittersweet endings. I wanted it to seem like, her only way of "escape" was to literally give up her humanity. Become something inhuman to escape human nuance and emotion, live as a "creature", something that doesn't think the same way as us, something comparable to how an animal would think.

I feel it's like being backed into a corner...when you're panicking, threatened, sometimes you lash out and scream, cry, anything- and someone might call that hysteria, while others would call it "survival instinct". If all odds were against me, I think I'd wish I could turn into something that could protect myself.

Maybe it's more fantastical, or childish, thinking of "if only I had xyz ability, then I'd be powerful!" Or something. Anything to feel like you're not totally exposed? Vulnerable? Alga became something else entirely, and now she'll never have to deal with anything human in her life. Not in the same way, at least.

Traded her humanity for a "weapon", or that she *became* a weapon, maybe? I like to imagine it's open to interpretation.

Thank you so much for all your kind and funny commentary, and the video in general! :>

First of all thank you so much for watching it, I'm glad you enjoyed it!

I've already have a couple games of yours downloaded (namely While I Wake and Nothing Bad Ever Happens to Me) so I hope you'll enjoy those too when I get to them. I choose my games at random from a big queue so it might take a while, but I'll get to them!

You did a great job conveying her feelings, you can tell her desperation to escape her life peaks at the ritual thing. If she became a mermaid, she wouldn't have to feel all these things, to be subjected to a life she never wanted. For the first time she was choosing something for herself... I don't know if it was the best choice, but it made sense for her. I like to think that she became the weapon she needed to defend herself! Loved reading your post, I can tell this story meant a lot for you.

Thank you again for making and sharing this beautiful game!
