Oh no, I'm so sorry that happened to you Soso!
Thank you for taking the time to play the demo, and for the screenshots! This error (as far as I know) is because Chapter 2 broke old saves. If you played Chapter 1 before the update went live, even a few hours before, the quickest way to remedy this is to use the chapter selection option to skip Chapter 1, set your important variables again, and proceed with Chapter 2.
Sincerest apologies for the inconvenience of replaying / remembering old choices, but hopefully if you try this, it will work and you can proceed past the notebook.
