Nah, US citizen, to my perpetual shame. For me, it's just the principal of the matter. Folks, such as yourself, shouldn't have to deal with that crap, and I'm not about to tolerate it. I could use discord if I really wanted to, but that doesn't teach them any lessons. So, nah. Hard pass.

Folks forget that data collected needs storing. Stored data is vulnerable to sale, data breach, or other less direct forms of compromise. Account for the fact that any business needs to meet a minimum acceptable rate of return on every action, and it quickly becomes obvious that storing data for any period is untenable without somehow profiting from it. ADDITIONALLY, when you consider that Meta is the single largest contributing corporation to lobbying for these kinds of laws, a very, very, ugly picture emerges.
