I really liked this game! I’m not super into interactive novels, but this one held me for a good half hour. I especially enjoyed the branching narratives. They didn’t feel forced, or that a choice was always a false choice.

The content warning was good as well. I think having those are really important, as it helps a lot of people decide beforehand how the story could affect them.

I don’t have much feedback, as I’m not well-versed in capabilities of Twine. A fade between dark and light colors as the background changed would be less “flash-bang”. It’s a minor thing, but was a surprise the first time I had it happen.

I did run into a missing ?alias?tag? thing near one of the endings. If I remember correctly, it’s where you argue with Sam but then end up sitting with him. The UI popped up a missing element. It was minor and didn’t affect the experience, because it was the end, but I just wanted to let you know :) (I had a screenshot but itch decided not to save my comment, so I lost it)

I also liked the ending summaries - death of the …. I thought that was a great way to wrap up each ending.

This is such great feedback, thank you! I'm so glad to hear this captured you so well. I was honestly kinda worried that this game wouldn't appeal well unless someone was already into interactive fiction, so I'm super happy that's not the case with at least you! And yeah I definitely didn't want to force the player into anything they didn't want to do, so the only real false/forced choice I implemented was the hesitating right at the beginning. I'm glad the branching narratives went well for you!

And yeah, I believe content warnings are super important, too, especially when a game's as dark and graphic as this one. I definitely don't want to accidentally hurt someone.

As for the background of the Destruction of the Nurture route, yeah, that's definitely fair.  Twine is HTML/CSS based, which I only have simple knowledge of, so I'm not entirely sure how to do a fade-in. I can definitely look into making it much less flashbang-y though! In hindsight making the background pure white on that route probably wasn't my best idea lol.

Also about the align tag, good catch, I looked into it! Seems like I missed... a single bracket. Ah the joys of game dev. I'll put up a fixed version tomorrow!

And I'm also glad to hear you enjoyed the ending summaries! Thank you so much again for your feedback :D
