Guys, I think I finally figured out Rachel, and why she has such a strong affiliation with the MC.
In the Cafe date with Victoria, Part 1, Day 12, the MC explains his backstory to Victoria in more detail, of which he mentions a girl who he knew when he was a kid. This in itself isn’t all that telling, but if we look at the super very subtle clues laid out by Cose, many of those hints point to that childhood girl being Rachel.
Obviously this is just my head canon, but the more I think about how hard Rachel seems to infatuate herself with the MC, it does make some sense. So with that, I think I can draw a pretty conclusive picture of Rachel’s backstory! (Obviously, once again, this is just my headcanon, but it would be cool if the creator would look into what I’m saying.)
The story goes: When the MC was a young boy, he would always get into fights, meaningless fights, that did nothing but serve to stroke his ego. Until one day, where his fight had justification, when he saw a young girl, Rachel, being bullied by a couple of guys. When the MC proved victorious, Rachel and the young MC became loser, eventually becoming friends, where the MC vows to protect Rachel, at least, that is until Rachel has to move away.
Rachel, now alone and in a new place, struggles without her protector, and continues to get bullied, even at the new town she lives in. Until one day, when she was just starting in her teens, she’s nearly forced into a sexual act with one of her bullies. Realizing that the MC isn’t there to help her out, she attempts to take matters into her own hands, that’s when she breaks free (provided with the assistance of some sort of weapon), and escapes her R*pist’ hold.
(Obviously this may not have happened, but with how often Rachel associates anything a man does with a female as R*pe, it would make sense that she at least was nearly a Victim).
Knowing she has no one to protect her, she begins taking matters into her own hands, but different than the MC. The MC could protect himself because he’s strong, but Rachel has to take a different approach. Rachel knows she can’t beat any of the bullies in a fight, so she takes an Ultra-feminist route, cause she knew that being loud and obnoxious was the one way to stop a man from wanting to have anything to do with you (at least this is somewhat true, no man would ever want anything to do with an ultra-feminist, even if she was the baddest bitch in town.).
years pass by, Rachel is 18, and now fully committed to her role as an ultra-feminist. There were still times when people would try to bully her, there were still people would tried to make passes at her, but she held strong in her role, and never faulterd, one day, she gets called into the office by the headmistress of Foundsbouroh, she’s told about the new student, and how she is to take him to her office.
Shes unhappy about this, thinking that he’ll just be another guy who’s only interested in a women’s body, but with her being head of the student council, she can’t reject, and obviously, this is where the MC and Rachel reunite. Now, Rachel and the MC obviously don’t recognize each other at first, this is a lot harder for the MC, since he was cut off from being able to recount anything about her by Victoria, but i suspect Rachel was able to piece together bits and pieces from her memory. Now she’s torn, she’s built up this reputation of being an Ultra feminist who doesn’t need a man in her life, but it’s clear that she wants the MC to remember her, even if she’s going about it in the wrong way, cause to her, she just wants to confirm her suspicions, but she doesn’t know how, and all her years of being a feminist has made her Jaded to the thought of just asking him if they knew each other, and with how the MC is now constantly surrounded by women, she’s never able to get one on one time with him alone, and even when she tries, the words just falter on her lips, never escaping, never asking what she truly wants to ask.
And that, at least by my understanding, is Rachel’s backstory.
obviously this could be wrong, I’m not Game Theorist MatPat, but please read it, and tell me what you think of this.
