Check the Wardrobe.
I did check the wardrobe several times, it did not show up there even after quitting and then continuing the save, as well as closing the game altogether and booting it back up
slot 2 is the one with the egyptian cat bought. yet here it does not show up. i am on slot 2 save.

Edit: I found it, for anyone who's curious, you unlock it after you've finished the christmas tree quest and slept for a couple of days.
