A native linux version would be nice, but the game does work well with proton. The easiest way is to just add it as a non-steam game and launch it there.
I know I am not the Dev here but having every-time iv ran into native builds of anything games wise has been a mess cause of multiple differences between install of linux and distros. I think having support for proton is enough due to how fractured things are..
