Totally agree on the music. I didn't have enough time during the jam to work on something more polished, so I focused on the mechanics and narrative instead. The random pauses you noticed are a known quirk of the Web Audio API scheduling. It's something I'd like to fix properly in an update. That's also part of why I added a mute button, so players who find it distracting can just turn it off and enjoy the game in silence.
Glad the gameplay loop worked for you though — keeping it simple but engaging was definitely the goal.
