Seamless Playback Issue on Cider Windows Client (v3.0.0)

Hi Cider Team,

I’m experiencing an issue with seamless playback on the Cider Windows client (version 3.0.0). When playing the same playlist in Apple Music on other platforms (e.g. Android), transitions between tracks are smooth without gaps. However, on Cider, tracks consistently pause briefly between transitions, breaking the continuity of playback.

This behavior occurs across all playlists that are confirmed to support seamless playback on official Apple Music clients. As Cider is designed to replicate Apple Music’s functionality, I suspect this may relate to how the client handles audio buffering or the Web Audio API implementation.

Environment:

OS: Windows 11

Cider Version: 3.0.0

I am also experiencing this problem. Happens with albums too where there is supposed to be a seamless transition between tracks.

Bump, also having this issue. The seamless audio transitions toggle does not seem to work as intended.

Experiencing the same exact problem

Hello, Leo from the Cider team here!
The Seamless Transition toggle in Cider 3 Versions is actually not something we developed, it's simply a flag in Apple's MusicKit API. This means that it's functionality is limited to what Apple has implemented. In this case, we simply enable the flag during playback.

In Cider 4, we've made our own version of MusicKit, which we call MKLite. It enables more features when it comes to queue organization, music quality, and the speed in which tracks load! This means that when Cider 4 launches, you will receive a smoother, more stable, and snappier experience when listening to your favorite playlists!
