It is possible, thought that is a new change to the game that only happened in this version. That reward is only for normally winning the fight on day 14 (the reason Toji is kinda scared of you in the cutscene.)
Also, you want to win through strength because it will let you see extra scenes in the game. Paying enough money can work, but it isn't a good solution. And unlocking modelling before day 14 would basically mean you knew exactly what you were doing in order to speedrun it. it's... long and complicated.
