I mean, the author could’ve used a safer site, but there’s no evidence that the file itself is infected. And even if you have an ad blocker, it depends on which one. If you’re not using something like uBlock Origin, there’s honestly like a 99% chance that any trojan you got came from an ad.
So yeah, I agree it should’ve been hosted somewhere else, since that site has malicious ads and all that, which makes it risky for people who’ve never used it before. But saying the file itself has a trojan is just false.
