Good news: Toncho the takeover dev is still highly active on the official Discord. His most recent update directly on the game was a short video of a seraphim baby shooting cool holy lightning tears. Also he still seems to answer questions about the game when someone does a challenge run or something. He's made a lot of really cool content that you can see on X, bluesky,
Bad news: all the cool content and stuff he made just suddenly came to a screeching halt on his x and bluesky as soon as he made this itchio post for some reason. On discord he even jokes about how he hasn't (and maybe even will not?) finish the game, and the vast majority of his recent messages are just about him playing mewgenics.
Hopefully toncho is just trolling Ultrakill Hakita style, will release it eventually and is just polishing it. He doesn't seem like a YandereDev situation in that he is lenient with trolls in the Discord server and seems still relatively passionate.
