At Skull Jockey we found the there's an incredible wealth of musicians trying to break into the gaming scene, happy to lend their skills to projects. before considering paying for music maybe consider asking for help.

You'd be okay just making a simple contract, basically so long as you have something in writing and both parties agree to it you should be okay and not need to worry.
