How did you decide on the perspective, how much to foreshorten and other aspects of you you designed the view port?

Honestly I grabbed screenshots of Might and Magic 5 and just copied exactly what they did. In the future I would like to change things up a bit to take better advantage of a wider aspect ratio found on modern monitors but it felt good at the time. I also liked how wide the front walls are - it give me a lot of room to create a texture or entity in the world as a piece of art that fills most of the viewport.
