is there a reason it's female specific? this game looks really cool, but i'd only really get into it if there was a male or even neutral protag option </3

Here's the main reasons:
Dating Killmulator was designed to describe certain situations that tend to happen to women.
In this specific game we thing it's important to have a female MC to explore themes such as male / female toxicity, SA and perception of women in society.
We have considered this option a few times, but with the resources we have right now and our writing team (we are 3) it's pretty much impossible.
Keep in mind we have other jobs (plural) as to economically sustain ourselves and this game.
that makes sense!! sorry if i sounded like a douche, i really didn't mean to. i'm just a trans guy and didn't feel comfortable with the vulnerability of the themes as a female character. i was just curious as to why, but that wasn't meant to be trying to make you guys overwork yourselves or announce loudly that i'm not playing. congrats on the game and i hope everything goes smoothly!!
