Sky Volume Override question

Hey Holomind!

I tried using the Gen5 sky you added, it looks really nice. I tried using the 'Gen5 Sky' monobehavior -> global volume but the generated clouds don't seem to move. I tried increasing cloud speed but the clouds remain static.

Could there be something I'm overlooking? Thanks!

p.s I'm still on 2.0.1

Hi rick0! I’m really happy to hear you liked the Gen5 Sky.

I’ll check the Gen5 Sky behavior in version 2.0.1 tomorrow, especially the cloud movement, and I’ll get back to you as soon as I can.

Developer

Hey!

It does seem like the Gen5 Sky option inside the Sky Volume is having issues at the moment.

As an alternative, you can do the following: create an empty GameObject in the scene and add the Gen5 Sky component to it. This should automatically update the Sky Volume to use Gen5 Sky, and the clouds should start working as expected.

Since you're still on 2.0.1, this is likely related to that behavior.

Ah thanks for checking. I can try upgrading, it's on my todo list anyway!

Developer

No problem! You can just download the newer version and update it in your project. I’ve built the package so that updates should not break things that are already set up in existing projects, since everything is handled with serialization.

So in theory, updating should be pretty safe.

Please let me know if you run into any issues.

All working now, thanks!

Part of the issue might have been that I was looking at the scene view and the clouds weren't moving. By chance I saw the clouds moving in the game view so it's all good now!
