Hi! Yes this is a known issue due to the fact the game is using an encrypted save file plugin that doesn't play nice with certain user directories sadly. I havent updated this game in a long time but am planning to give this game a proper final update sometime soon to fix all the remaining issues so keep an eye out.
Over on GameJolt I posted about the issue when the game came out, and someone mentioned it has something to do with non-english characters in your user folder name (wasnt a decision on my part, just a flaw in the addon I used for encrypted saves). The game has been out long enough now that I'll likely make the save file unencrypted.
