I have figured out how you can get Palkia pearls without paying. If you go into the diamond shop, there is a rebirth system: for exchanging some gold and diamonds, you can get pearls and a permanent boost.

You lose all your money and the diamonds that you spent on the specific rebirth. You keep everything else.
