i think character creation in the new 1.4 build is broken. the face of the preview model is covered in a white square that i can't get rid of and selecting clothing options doesn't seem to actually make a visual difference. i assume this is unintentional since the screenshots on the game page don't match what i'm seeing in my game.
edit: running the game as administrator seemed to fix it, you might wanna look into why it happened in the first place
