This jam was really awesome as a whole. I had a ton of fun with everyone's games. I loved your project. To be completely honest when playing it it made me a little bit sentimental about being a kid and spending way too much time with my sister raising Chaos in Sonic Adventure 2 Battle. I never played any of the other games you mentioned as influences but Chao Garden memories really hit me in the soul! :p I also was slightly reminded of Monster Rancher 2 and that was also some grade A nostalgia for me.
As I saw you write somewhere, there isnt really a full game loop. I was actually pretty ok with that, and I am totally in support of using game jams as weird, off-game experiments. I actually think you nailed what you were trying to do and even though there wasn't much to do, I was still like "awww dang I love my cute little pet". With a little more content I think this could be fun.
Even though the pet drawing was a little hard to control for me , I liked how they turned out. That said, I think if the drawing somehow was a little more fleshed out it would be great. I couldn't get the exact pet I wanted.
I'm a pretty big newb and have no idea how something like drawing on that 2D thing then translates into a 3D object so it was really cool to think about those kind of possibilities.
I've done the last 5 or 6 of these game jams and this one was one of my favorites. Not because of the project I made at all, but because of all the other projects. Really cool! :)

Glad you enjoyed it. this comment put a big smile on my face reading it. Very glad i was able to stir some happy memories :)
In regards to lofting a 2D shape, this is one of the more rudimentary ways of doing it. It's possible that I return to this later and give an option for different lofting methods, or even the ability to choose to draw each body part from different profiles to give people more control!
Thank you for the feedback!
