The main issue I see is the mechanic of choosing a modifier card for every chip you place on the board. I would consider adjusting this so it doesn’t happen so frequently, as it interrupts the flow of the gameplay. Games in the Balatro style aren’t really puzzle games — even though thinking and decision-making are part of the experience — they’re usually fast-paced and dynamic, where you can achieve huge scores through crazy card combos.

I would also consider changing the background music and the background art style. They feel a bit too serious for the core mechanics of the game. I would try giving both a more humorous and colorful tone to better match the gameplay.
