You need to open up the .zip file in an external app, like WinRAR or other .zip viewer. The .apk file is inside there, you have to open that to prompt up the .apk downloader.
Nvm. For some reason, when I went to view the game file on Google Files, it was magically listed as an APK, so I was able to install it. But thanks for the tip anyway.
