I consider sales donations. The game is open source. I just haven't made the git repository public yet because it's a bit of a mess currently. I really appreciate purchases, they help me support my family and keep me motivated. :)
That being said, the most important part is for people to play and have fun. So, feel free to give your friend a copy. Maybe when I get the translation code stable your friend can help translate the game.
