EXP Share has not distributed a single point of xp to any of my other pokemon. Now I just have one guy that attacks stuff and as soon as he dies, it's a wash for the rest. Yes, it is on in the menu.
You also have to buy the EXP Share item from the shop, the setting option just toggles if that item works or not.
