To Fez,
I just want to say that no normal person would have done what I did, haha. But I really like your game and the way you handle the corruption mechanics (if that’s the right word). In case you’re wondering, I did all of this on Easy Mode, which probably explains how I managed it. On Standard Mode, it would have taken much longer to grind for EXP and money.
So how did I do it? EXP actually isn’t that hard once you understand how the system works. I’ll try to explain it in the simplest way possible.
Prologue Arc
First, durability plays a huge role in EXP grinding. Also, most maps don’t have a turn limit (unlike the map where you have to defeat Nue in 20 turns). Because of that, there’s no real reason to rush.
At the start of the game, you can intentionally waste the enemies’ weapon durability and gain as much EXP as possible from the map. Since there’s no turn limit, you can stay as long as you want. That’s basically the core idea.
Characters:
Anyone on your team who can heal gains a lot of EXP — 30 per heal, no matter their level. On Standard Mode, I think it’s reduced to 15 EXP, which just slows down progression.
Classes:
Healers are extremely strong for gaining EXP.
Maps:
Weapon durability is the key mechanic that makes this possible.
Eleyid Arc (Chapters 7–8)
In Chapters 7–8, you can basically create an infinite EXP setup using Reese and Xerina.
Reese (Second Phase – Chase):
If you waste her weapon durability, she can’t move or attack anymore. I discovered that you can attack her infinitely without killing her. Most characters gain 2 EXP per attack per turn, regardless of level. Healers, of course, still gain 30 EXP per heal. It’s slow, but it works.
Xerina:
It works in a similar way, but you use up your own weapon durability, so it’s more limited.
Other Maps / Paralogues
On some other maps, especially paralogues, there are enemies with infinite attacks and no durability. You can farm levels by letting them attack you repeatedly. If one enemy keeps attacking you, you gain 2 EXP per turn.
You don’t even need to attack them until they can’t damage you anymore. Just focus on surviving and healing your characters.
That’s basically how I did it. Feel free to ask me anything.
As for suggestions, I’m not completely sure. You could add more turn limits so maps aren’t infinite. Or you could give enemies and bosses infinite weapon durability so they stay threatening and prevent easy grinding. But what do I know? No normal person would probably explain something like this, haha.
I think it would be really nice if, by chance, I received an item or maybe even a character — but not in a silly way. I don’t need extra cutscenes or dialogue. Even something small would be enough.
For example:
Normal Water → Red Fanta.
Basically, even a small appearance change for a character would be enough. It doesn’t need much dialogue at all. Either way, I don’t really need anything — I’m just happy that I could share my experience and talk about my progress.
I don’t want you to change the story or characters. It’s your story, your project, your game. I’m just a player after all, haha.
Anyway, I’d love to talk about what I think about the story arcs another time — but that’s for another day.
Oof, anyways, I hope you have a nice day.😅😵
Save files will be on 95Zone soon. I couldn’t figure out how to post the save files here, haha. 😅
