Having some problems with the Mac version under Sequoia 15.6. If I try to launch the .app from Finder (I was trying out the demo version), I get this:

You can’t use this version of the application “Zombiii Video Music Demo.app” with this version of macOS.

Weirdly enough, if I right-click on it and do Show package contents, and launch zombiii-video-music-demo from Contents/MacOS, after running xattr -d com.apple.quarantine /Applications/Zombiii\ Video\ Music\ Demo.app...it does work. That still should not be. Is there a fix in the works?

Mac OS Support is difficult, to say the least. To compile a version compatible with Sequoia I have to have hardware that supports Sequoia. We can blame Apple for it. Maybe we can work out something, if you wan to try and compile it yourself, let me know. It's not for the faint of hear t though.

I'm going to pull in someone with experience to look into this. I will send you a link to download the full version to test. Give me a few days.

Thanks again for the detailed report — I really appreciate you taking the time to dig into that.

This looks like a Mac packaging issue on my end (not the emulator itself), since the app runs when launched directly from the Contents/MacOS folder. Finder is being stricter about the app bundle under Sequoia, and I need to correct that.

I’m working on a proper fix so it launches normally without any workarounds.

In the meantime, as a thank you for catching and explaining this so clearly, I’ll be sending you a free copy of the full version. It will still have the same problem if you download the current installer, but I will try a new build this weekend. Maybe sooner.

If you don’t mind, let me know:

  • Apple Silicon or Intel Mac

Thanks again — this was really helpful.
