Hello there! I mostly just lurk around Itch here, but I've seen gameplay of your games and they are fantastic!

Quick question, is it possible to save in this game? If there isn't a built in save feature, do I have your permission to use a mod, add-on, or program that can make save states?

I am interested in playing this game myself and I just want to be able to explore every possible choice without having to replay from the beginning over and over again.

Sorry if this question might be weird. But thank you so much if you reply to this! ^^

Hey there! Unfortunately there's no save system implemented. I figured most people only play my games once in a single sitting (and honestly I find a them a bit daunting to add). No one's ever asked me to mod a game, but I don't see any problems, so by all means add one for your mod! Obviously just be careful if there's any personal metadata in the files.

It's been a while since I made Ochre, but from what I remember about the code architecture to help you out, important variables for progression are found in the discovered bool for each Location and in the Narrative.cs script.

If spoilers are a concern of yours, be careful because you'll see I hard coded the dialogue (i was a bit messy but it's mostly in Scripts>Locations, but also GoodEnding.cs). Other places to mention would be spoilers in the Sprites folder, and the GoodEnding scene. If spoilers are of no concern to you, go crazy! There's heaps of hidden stuff.

Hi there! Thank you so much for replying and for your permission! I'm really not familiar with the technical aspects of gaming and coding, but if I ever start practicing, I would love to make a saving system mod for all your games sometime in the future! You're a underrated developer and I adore your games ^^

Also btw... is it okay... that I may have a crush on Tyler...? XD
