The execution on this is beautiful.

Damn did I just make a pun?

While I wasn't around for the times, the presentation takes me back to the beauty I've seen of the PC98 era of games. The love in the backgrounds, the character art, and the subtle bits of animation to spice it up into life. The work put in here leaves me enamored.

I'm having a hard time finding the exact words I want to put down to avoid spoilers for those who may look down here before downloading, but I'll see if I can manage. I'm thoroughly entranced by the psyche and circumstances of our two main characters. Bao seems clever and cunning in her own way, but there's such a fascinating naivety about her that makes her blind. I'm attached to her in this horrible way of watching a train barrel towards an obstacle and derail itself. Jan carries that perfect layer of obfuscation that makes her like royalty and it plays so perfectly into the plot.

Furthermore, the tiny glimpse we get into this world is just like dangling a juicy grape out of my reach. I can envision the greatness but I'm only allowed the glory of gazing on it. The moon in particular is delightfully sinister.

The ryona is without a doubt informed and damn does it leave me with questions that feed a hungering to know more about the world. Everything that the trigger warning is about is utilized so damn well. If I haven't already given the impression enough, this game has left an impression on me and it's gonna run through my head at times with nuggets of intrigue and wonder.

Even if your paths don't take you on a journey to see more of this world, please keep making things because there is so much talent here. A shining entry.

P.S. Love the peek behind the curtains that the ReadMe file provides and its help in seeing a different outcome. And... did you have any plans for if we turned right?

Extremely kind and thoughtful thing to leave me! I'm glad I based this off an AU RP setting, because alluding to bigger things helps make things seem juicier and bigger. As a creator my personal bugbear is to make sure people don't assume the world ends past where the screen shows.

Comments like this help me see that I'm on the right track with that, thank you.

ALSO LOL no that was an accident and I'll remove it later, but it'll probably feature in the design notes.
