Hey there, it super interesting story and I am glad I found this.

I am however a bit curious about the direction that this will take. 

Will it be more toward an Interactive Fiction or toward a visual novel? For me, a visual novel is more railroaded where choices are more or less cosmetic and only to gave different flavor with the same outcome at the end.

Interactive Fiction has choices that actual impact and change the story differently depending on your choice which can lead to different scenarios or endings.

Which do you think Paper Mask is more leaning towards?

I think I'd best describe it as a romance / dating sim? Each season will add a romantic interest, and the player will be able to pursue them with different relationship dynamics depending on the choices. As the first season only has Max, the choices are limited, but as the story grows, there will be more occasions for different relationships.💜
Also keep in mind it's a work in progress, and all of this might change in the future. But the plan is to make this a romance focused game with relationship branching. I hope this helps! :>

Yeah no, that the way. No complaints from me on the romance side ! The plot and story are also excellent.

But just to clarify the points of dynamics, 

does it involve choice in the relationship itself? For example, to be able to choose if you are the one leading or be led in it? Or choices during erotic/nsfw scene such as actions/positions/etc?

And also, how many chapters are you planning per season?
