Love the art & music, the gameplay however? It leaves much to be desired. The movelists are so formulaic and simplified that most characters don't mechanically stand out from each other. The core mechanics aren't great either, you can only jump one way, incredibly high and floaty, which eliminates any viability in the air. There also isn't any universal form of run or advanced movement. Additionally, combos are nonexistent, which would be fine for me ( a guy that personally prefers 2D fighters with good neutral) if it wasn't already established that there is literally nothing to do in neutral. This gives me the feeling that this game was made by a guy that played a fighting game maybe once or twice and tried his best to make what he could after learning about 2DFM2ND. Again, I love the presentation, I wouldn't be against you revisiting this universe, or even making another fighting game, as long as you study the philosophy of fighting games a bit more and put a bit more thought into the mechanics.
