I'm currently at 40 walk skill, 15 boots and 130 walk level and I agree - eyeballing the numbers, it seems to be about a 50x debuff between rooms 8 and 9.  Was wondering if that's intended and if so, what the logic behind it was?


Enjoying the game otherwise, I do wish there was somewhere I could see the total multiplier (level+equipment+upgrades) on each skill though.

It was intended.  That's the point of the game where you have access to most of the upgrades and it's kind of wrapping up at that point, so maybe it is a bit of a wall, but there isn't really anything on the other side.  What I was hoping was that people would like to grind a bit more to get strong enough to do the ending.  Some of the complaints about my previous game was that it was too slow at the start and too fast at the end.  It might have worked better if I had made it more clear how many total rooms there are since it is more discouraging to people who think they are still in the middle of the game.

Also part of the reason your walk skill doesn't get leveled up as much as other skills before that point is you spend so much more time doing everything else, so even though you suddenly have to spend more time walking, your walk skill should level faster than the others while it catches up.
