You would have to manually move your save file from 0.3.18 to the 0.4.1 folder, once you fully install the game.

Yes, but it's a bit more tricky. You need to either use a good storage app (that i don't know off the top of my head) , or tether to a PC and drag and drop.
Thanks I'll probably just restart it on 0.4.1 and amazing game too have really been enjoyable
